Extended Project Qualification
Online | Ages 16-18
The Extended Project is one of the most exciting parts of the final years of the Sixth Form years and certainly very rewarding.
EPQ is an A-level standalone qualification designed to extend and develop students’ abilities beyond the A-level scope through reflection, problem solving, independent learning etc. It prepares students for a university or future career.
The EPQ allows students to lead their own projects. Students get to plan and carry out research on a topic they’ve chosen and isn’t covered by their qualification. Students can take inspiration from a topic covered in class, personal research in a field of interest, conference they have attended in the past etc. The course is taught across three terms from Spring or Winter with moderation happening in January and June
This qualification is assessed by the tutor-assessor with external moderation.

The final certificate will allow students to apply to their chosen university. This qualification supports progression into training or employment by developing skills in key areas such as planning, research, project management and self-reflection.
